Employee Engagement
With extensive experience working with organisations of all sizes, the team here at We-are-HR understand how to get the most from your talent. We can assist with increasing Employee Engagement within your organisation. Through our extensive history of success, we have established techniques that are proven to help the relationship between an organisation and its employees.
Our aim is for all employees to be engaged, having job satisfaction and high morale, therefore benefiting the organisation through increased performance.
Despite academic critiques, employee engagement practices are well established in the management of human resources and of internal communications. There are many benefits to improving the employer/employee relationship, both for individuals and teams as well as the organisation itself.
With a good relationship between employees and the organisation, morale across the company is improved, benefiting productivity. In fact, engaged employees can be up to 17% more productive, which is a significant impact on overall performance.
This is not just for individuals; higher morale creates a more welcoming environment and promotes more cohesive teamwork. This enables teams and departments to excel, and it ensures that the collective talent reaches their full potential. In addition, that happier, inclusive environment benefits employee health too.
Every year in the UK, £6.5 Billion is lost to workplace stress, with more engaged employees creating a culture of inclusiveness and collaboration, stress levels can be notably reduced.
We also exist in a competitive employment market, and both in terms of recruitment of new people and retention of existing talent, better relationships and the improved internal culture it provides helps significantly.
It also benefits in ways you may not even think about. For instance, workplaces with highly engaged employees are up to 70% safer than those with poor engagement, as employees are more focused on the task at hand, rather than whether their manager likes them or not.
Employee engagement today has become synonymous with terms like ’employee experience’ and ’employee satisfaction’. The relevance is much more due to the vast majority of new generation professionals in the workforce who have a higher propensity to be ‘distracted’ and ‘disengaged’ at work.
In addition, many organisations are now finding out that engaged employees, and the increased productivity and other benefits it brings, lead to higher share price too. Campbell’s Soup CEO Doug Conant is famously quoted as saying
“To win in the marketplace…you must first win in the workplace. I’m obsessed with keeping employee engagement front and center.”
With all this in mind, it should come as no surprise that a recent survey by Staff Connect suggests that an overwhelming number of enterprise organisations today (74.24%) were planning to improve employee experience in 2018.
