August was a busy and exciting month for our team! With an influx of marking requests from learners due to the changes in CIPD Assignment Briefs, we certainly had our hands full. Despite this, many team members took some well-deserved workcations, enjoying a balance of travel and work responsibilities.

Several exciting destinations were explored, with team members visiting various countries and cities, taking time to rest, recharge, and return energised for the months ahead.

As for me, I had the pleasure of spending my time at the beautiful Quinta Marugo, where I met some amazing individuals during the resilience workshops led by Rachel Austen and yoga sessions with Marah Arcilla. The experience was further enhanced by the mouth-watering, 100% vegan cuisine prepared by the incredibly talented Caroline Fesson. You can even try some of her delicious recipes yourself by checking out this!
This retreat was my personal combination of a vacation and workcation—a peaceful escape away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. While it was difficult to fully switch off, I realised that, deep down, I thrive on action, even when dreaming of calmness and tranquillity.
The natural pool was incredibly refreshing, and the twice-daily yoga sessions truly helped me recharge. Although it feels like my time at the retreat flew by, the experience left a lasting impression, and I wholeheartedly recommend taking time for yourself to rest and recuperate from the busyness of work and life.
In other exciting news, we also welcomed a new member to the We-are-HR family! Please join me in welcoming Ryan Burton to the team. We’re thrilled to have him onboard!
