January 2024 Newsletter

Dear Readers,

How was your Month of January?

We started January filled with a busy calendar of events already scheduled into our business calendar for the months ahead, alongside the onboarding of many new learners joining our centre.

Last month, we focused on the theme of “Goal Setting” as we are always listening to our audience requests, and this theme was discussed in a recent coaching session with one of our learners. In our session, we discussed Careers and Focusing on preparing yourself for the role that you really want!

Our previous webinar with our guest speaker Vicky Stanton on Vision, Goal Setting, and 90-day Planning for a Successful 2024 gave our audience a refreshing start on how to focus on reaching your goals. Vicky runs her own HR consulting business. As a qualified business and personal coach, she passionately believes in our potential to achieve anything. A member of the International Coaching Federation and a Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Personal and Development, Vicky is dedicated to guiding individuals and businesses towards success with a personalised and strategic approach.”

The Key Takeaways were:

  • Natasia started by emphasising the importance of focusing on our direction and setting clear goals during the introduction.
  • Vicky delved into the question of why some people succeed more than others despite having the same amount of time each day. The key lies in long-term planning, creating a roadmap, and being accountable for our actions.
  • Lack of success can be attributed to a variety of factors, including the absence of a clear plan, misdirected focus, and poor time management.
  • Vicky advocated for a shift from traditional New Year’s resolutions to a more practical and effective 90-day plan, emphasising the need for a long-term vision and a detailed strategy for goal achievement.
  • It was stressed that goals should not only be outlined but also accompanied by a plan detailing how to achieve them.
  • Success was linked to the right combination of focus, effort, and resource allocation. Writing goals on paper was highlighted as a practice proven to be ten times more effective than digital methods.
  • Practical planning questions were provided, prompting individuals to consider the first steps, subsequent actions, time protection, and resource requirements.
  • Participants were encouraged to think about the advice they would give to a friend starting a similar journey.
  • Breaking down plans into manageable steps, creating 30-day blocks, and establishing daily and weekly schedules were recommended for effective goal implementation.
  • Regularly reviewing progress towards goals was underlined as a crucial step in the process.
  • Natasia concluded the session by expressing gratitude to Vicky Stanton for sharing valuable insights.

We-are-HR Team

In addition to our foundational values of Passionate, Caring, Friendly, and Driven, we are proud to emphasise our commitment to excellence in every aspect of our service. Throughout January, our dedicated team worked tirelessly to ensure that these values permeate not only our interactions with customers but also within our internal dynamics. We believe that fostering a culture of passion, genuine care, friendliness, and unwavering determination not only enriches the experiences of those we serve but also strengthens the bonds among our team members.

As we navigated a busy calendar of events and welcomed new learners to our centre, the embodiment of these values became evident in the positive feedback and connections we forged. Our passion fuels our commitment to providing unparalleled service, our caring nature extends beyond the classroom, our friendliness creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all, and our drive motivates us to constantly strive for excellence.

On the solutions side of the business, we have been busy conducting Performance Reviews for our SME’s, and a very interesting pro bono disciplinary case has landed on my desk. As a centre, we are here to support our learners, and often this requires providing the occasional additional support!

If you are a growing organisation and you recognise that having a well-designed and effectively implemented performance review process is a valuable management tool that contributes to organisational success by promoting employee development, aligning individual and team efforts with strategic goals, and fostering a culture of transparency, communication, and continuous improvement. Then please get in contact, as we would love to assist and curate this process for you!
